Why is the red light blinking on my air purifier? ›

Incorrect placement or installation of a new filter is a common reason why an air purifier might display a blinking red light. Air purifiers are designed to detect and adjust the presence and condition of a filter to ensure efficient operation.

If the hepa indicator light turns red, the True Hepa filter needs replaced. Same is true of the "pre" light, meaning the pre-filter needs replaced. Most of the time a cleaning will take care of the pre-filter but the indicator light(s) will need reset afterwards (if they were lit at all).
